- Fannie Nkosi will remain in custody after his bail application was postponed to 22 April 2026.
- His legal team argues the charges relate only to items found during a raid at his home.
- The State maintains he is central to corruption allegations linked to the Madlanga Commission.
Corrupt Gauteng cop, Fannie Nkosi, is set to spend more days behind bars following the postponement of his bail application to Wednesday, 22 April 2026.
Nkosi appeared before the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court, where his legal team and the State presented closing arguments on Monday, 20 April 2026.
He has been in police custody since 2 April, following a raid at his home where unlicensed ammunition, a state-issued stun grenade, and multiple police dockets were found.
During court proceedings, his lawyer, Siza Dlali, reminded the court that the charges against his client relate only to items found at his home during the raid earlier this month, just days after his suspension.
He argued that these charges are not linked to the evidence Nkosi gave at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
However, the State countered that both the raid and Nkosi’s arrest were carried out by the Madlanga Commission Task Team, where he has been linked to corruption.
“The Madlanga Commission demonstrates that the applicant is at the centre of these allegations, working for both criminal syndicates and corrupt senior police officers,” said State prosecutor Tholoana Sekonyana.
Nkosi will remain in custody at the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Facility.
