Twice the brilliance: The Mongake twins graduate cum laude!

Tsholofelo and Tshegofatso Mongake, better known as the Mongake twins, graduated cum laude from the prestigious University of Free State.

The famous twins proudly shared their graduation moments on Instagram and captioned their special day, “One degree hotter with distinction.”

THE MONGAKE TWINS GRADUATE FROM UNIVERSITY

During a Q&A session on their YouTube channel, they shared that their graduation was originally set for 2025; however, it was delayed due to changing their course and university.

Their varsity experience was one for the books, having participated in events such as the student engagement walk.

Tshego: My uni (university) life has been the best thing ever. When I changed my institution to the University of Free State, I didn’t think it would be so nice.

She added, “We would participate in some of the activities or events that were on campus, which was really nice.”

Tsholo: I think it’s the best years of my life, literally. I really thought high school is [was] nice, but uni is the best.

Their followers lit up the comments sections with praises, after the gorgeous duo shared photos in their graduation regalia.

BODY POSITIVE AND HEALTH-CONSCIOUS TWINS

Gone are the days when petite bodies seemed better. The evolution of body representation in media has seen the rise of plus-size shapes.

Much like Thickleeyonce, who has carved an inspiring body-positive brand, the Mongake twins are also flourishing in this space.

They have worked with many brands like Truworths and FashionNovaCurve, showcasing stylish and age-appropriate outfits for plus-size girlies.

The young ladies shared their experiences of being advocates for plus-size representation, including being bullied at school, in an interview on YFM.

In 2025, they opened up about their health-conscious journey on their YouTube channel. A follower asked for “tips on being consistent with [the] gym and maintaining a healthy diet.”

Tshego: What kept us very consistent at the gym was our end goal and also because we had a trainer, so we kind of didn’t really have an option on some days whether we wanted to go or not.

Tsholo: This weight loss journey is not from a point of hating ourselves, it’s just from a point of realising that eating unhealthy is not good.

“It’s okay to love yourself, definitely, and I still have that confidence, but I just want to make a healthy choice,” she added.
