Synopsis
The story follows young Chen Jiadong, whose parents are killed in Malaya after discovering a secret Japanese military human experimentation lab. He is sent back to Quanzhou as a “living remittance letter” via a Qiaopi bureau.
Twelve years later, he returns to Nanyang to uncover the truth. Together with Lin Mingshu and Lin Wangshu, siblings from the Qiaopi bureau, they expose the crimes and protect the list and letters documenting their fellow countrymen’s suffering.
Amid the turbulent times, using Qiaopi as their bond, they navigate through enemies, delivering not just money and letters but also faith and deep affection in the midst of war.
In the end, Chen Jiadong carries on their legacy, traveling between Nanyang and his homeland, growing into a “pijiao” (remittance letter carrier) who guards both his home and history amidst national and familial vengeance.
