Orlando Pirates remain at the summit after a draw with in-form Kaizer Chiefs, but Sundowns are in hot pursuit. What’s still coming?
Pirates’ remaining fixtures

- Saturday, 9 May vs Magesi FC, Seshego Stadium – 20:00
- Saturday, 16 May vs Durban City, Orlando Stadium – 15:00

Orlando Pirates still lead the way
The Sea Robbers are still top of the Betway Premiership table after their 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs at the weekend. However, Sundowns have a game in hand, and they’ll leapfrog the Buccaneers with a win over Polokwane on Wednesday. If they draw that match, they’ll go level with Pirates on points but lag behind by virtue of goal difference.
When will Mofokeng end his Pirates chapter?
The current buzz around Relebohile Mofokeng is understandable. The 21-year-old winger-cum playmaker is expected to play a central role for Bafana Bafana at the World Cup in the Americas. Not a day goes by that publications aren’t speculating as to where he might be playing his club football next season. If he shines in the Americas during the 2026 World Cup, there could be some big-name suitors. Mofokeng has 10 goals and seven assists from 23 league appearances this term. Would now be a good time to sell?
