Springboks: Two huge milestones to look forward to in 2026

Last year, both Willie le Roux and Siya Kolisi reached a century of appearances for the Springboks, with the veteran fullback celebrating this milestone against Italy in July, while Kolisi hit the milestone against France on the end-of-year tour.

So, who is next?

Powerful centre Damian de Allende has quietly moved up to 97 caps, and as long as he avoids any serious injury, he will undoubtedly join the ‘100 club’ this year. Although DDA could technically reach this mark during the July internationals, he won’t be expected to feature in every game, and so it’s most likely he will celebrate joining the centurions club during the blockbuster New Zealand tour to South Africa.

Right behind him, Pieter-Steph du Toit is now on 95 Test caps, and the Springboks will be thrilled to know that he is expected to recover from injury in time for the start of the international season. The dynamic loose forward, who is another player fully deserving of this special milestone, could also have the honour of reaching his milestone match during the highly-anticipated series against New Zealand.
