Four men from Soweto are facing a murder charge after allegedly killing 40-year-old Abraham Pretorius Kruger.

It is alleged that the suspects and the deceased met on a dating site and agreed to meet at a guest house in Brooklyn in the City of Tshwane in April 2026.

Mpendulo Nyembe, Siphosihle Xulu, Sphesihle Mbambo, and Ntando Zondi allegedly checked into the guest house on 3 April 2026, where the brutal murder reportedly took place.

About 20 minutes later, Kruger arrived at the guest house and was allegedly escorted by Zondi to the room where he was killed.

Kruger’s lifeless body was discovered by a cleaner the following day, who then alerted police.

Following investigations, all four suspects were arrested on 12 April 2026 in Protea Glen. The motive behind the murder is still under police investigation.

Three of the accused, who are from KwaZulu-Natal, were released on bail by the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Friday, 22 May 2026.

Their co-accused, Ntando Zondi (26), will continue with his bail application at the next court appearance.

As part of their bail conditions, the accused are required to report to the Pinetown Police Station every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The matter was postponed to 27 May 2026 for the continuation of Ntando Zondi’s bail application.
