DITSAAN-RAMAIN, Lanao del Sur — Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong took time off on Monday from his duties with the House prosecution panel in the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte to cast his vote during the regional parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Adiong voted at Upper Pugaan Elementary School in Barangay Upper Pugaan here at around 11 a.m.
While already seated to accomplish the ballot, Adiong briefly asked to confer with a precinct official to ask how shading is done.

Adiong is the spokesperson of the House prosecution panel, which began on Monday to present evidence on the second impeachment article that deals with the Vice President’s alleged unexplained wealth.
Outside his role in the impeachment, Adiong chairs the House Committee on Suffrage and Electoral Reforms.
At the House, he was the main author of the measure setting the BARMM parliamentary elections on Sept. 14.
During bicameral conference committee deliberations to harmonize the Senate version of the measure, Adiong accepted the provision advanced by Sen. Panfilo Lacson that those elected on Sept. 14 assume office on Oct. 31 this year, up until June 30, 2031.
He also accepted the provision holding the next BARMM regional elections simultaneously with the national schedule in 2031, and every three years thereafter./coa
