MILF chief casts votes, hopes winner  will truly serve Bangsamoro

COTABATO CITY – Moro Islamic Liberation Front Chairman (MILF) and United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim voted on Monday at Barangay Lower Pangangkalan, Pahamuddin, Special Geographic Area in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), hoping that the winners will truly serve the region.

“Today, as the Bangsamoro holds its first-ever election, we begin a new chapter toward a government with stronger leadership, one that truly serves and remains committed to every community and constituency in our homeland,” Ebrahim said after casting his vote shortly before 12 p.m.

He urged voters to choose candidates and political parties that would guide the Bangsamoro toward progress.

“Let us wholeheartedly choose the candidates and political parties that will guide us toward progress and give hope to every Bangsamoro — a government born out of a long struggle and now being realized through democracy,” he added.

He expressed hope that this election would conclude peacefully and orderly, and that greater understanding, unity, and love may prevail among all Bangsamoro after the political exercises.

His close aides and relatives accompanied and assisted him when he cast his vote. /coa
