MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) early Tuesday, Sept. 15, issued an amended guideline for the day of the proclamation of winners in the historic Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections.
The poll body directed all winning candidates to bring only four companions during the formal declaration at the 6th Infantry Division, Camp Siongco in Barangay Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.
These include the regional parliamentary political parties and candidates of the parliamentary district representatives in Maguindanao del Norte, excluding Cotabato City, Maguindanao del Sur, and special geographic areas.

They are also required to submit the list of complete names of their companions, plate numbers of the vehicles to be used, and the name of each vehicle driver.
The Comelec also warned the candidates against bringing firearms inside the premises.
“Should any firearm/s be brought to the venue, it shall be deposited in accordance with the applicable security protocols,” it said in the issued advisory.
After four postponements, the historic BARMM parliament election was officially conducted in at least 5,212 clustered precincts in 1,186 voting centers across the region early Monday. /jpv
