Agent Kim Reactivated Episode 3 Review: Fast and Definitely Hilarious

Action That Never Lets You Breathe

The action absolutely rules this series. Every fight sequence feels unique, and the kicks and punches never seem familiar. The stunt choreography deserves appreciation. The rooftop shootout, especially, was brilliant. The bullets may seem infinite, but the fun is in that. Why think of logic when the action itself is enough to stun us?

Then there’s the restaurant scene. Watching two men walk into a place full of thugs felt glorious. We get chaos, fun, and humour all at once. The camera work deserves special mention because we see almost all angles without too many edits. One amazing moment is when Jin-cheol uses a fridge door as a shield. It was casual and added a creative touch.

Middle-Aged Men Are the Coolest People in the Room

No lie, when we see men with dad-bods, they are the coolest. The trio of the series seriously carry the whole show. It’s so funny to see how every thug underestimates them because they’re old, but the moment they beat them, it shows how masculine these men are.

So Ji-sub once again commands every scene he’s in. Whether he’s quietly intimidating someone or transforming into an action hero, he is worth watching. Additionally, Choi Dae-hoon took the spot too. If you’ve only seen him playing goofy characters in K-dramas, seeing him effortlessly fight off the enemies showed how versatile an actor he is.

Story About Fathers

Amidst all the action, we still see an emotional storyline about fathers and how they slowly realise that they don’t really know much about their children. Though it isn’t directly portrayed as neglect, it shows how, unfortunately and unconsciously, parents only rush to provide financial assistance to their children instead of mentally staying with them.

That emotional thread gives the action much more meaning. The mission isn’t simply about rescuing Min-ji. It’s about dads earning a second chance to be beside their kids.

Min-ji Deserved Better Friends

Speaking of Min-ji, the way we all realised about Hye-ryeong…ouch. We learn how whenever Min-ji genuinely wanted someone to rely on, she had no one but her so-called friend Hye-ryeong, who only helps her when it’s convenient and when there is a need.

It makes Min-ji’s situation feel even sadder, especially knowing how isolated she already is. Speaking of the actor who stars as Min-ji, Seo Su-min continues delivering an impressively natural performance. Despite sharing the screen with veteran actors, she really does shine in her own way.

Final Thoughts

Episode 3 has explosive action, dad-bods, comedy actors turning into massive heroes, emotional weightage and exemplary acting by the cast.

The pacing remains relentless, the fight choreography keeps finding inventive ways to impress us, and the mystery surrounding Min-ji’s disappearance makes it all worth it as we, as viewers, are fighting to find the reason. Most importantly, the show’s actors are the main reason behind its success. Watching veteran actors in action is like a glass of fine wine.

Agent Kim Reactivated is streaming on Netflix.
