
MANILA, Philippines – On the 13th day of Vice President Sara Duterte impeachment trial, former Commission on Audit (COA) Intelligence and Confidential Funds Audit Office auditor Roderick Wamil returns to the witness stand, this time to answer clarificatory questions from senator-judges on his testimony regarding the alleged misuse of confidential funds.

- The House prosecution panel is expected to present its fifth witness, current COA-ICFAO auditor Xylene Del Ocampo, who is expected to testify on COA’s actions following the audit of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and Department of Education (DepEd) confidential funds.
- Sen. Raffy Tulfo will lead the questioning, followed by Sens. Bam Aquino, Kiko Pangilinan, Erwin Tulfo, Sherwin Gatchalian, Joel Villanueva, Risa Hontiveros, Robin Padilla, Imee Marcos, and JV Ejercito.
- Wamil earlier testified that the OVP and DepEd confidential fund liquidation documents contained deficiencies and noncompliance with COA rules, including missing documentary requirements and expenditures allegedly outside the allowable uses under Joint Circular No. 2015-01.
- The OVP received P500 million in confidential funds from the fourth quarter of 2022 to the third quarter of 2023, while DepEd received P112.5 million during the first three quarters of 2023 when Duterte served as education secretary.
