A Cambodian man was killed after being stabbed at a market in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani, today, August 6. Police later arrested a fellow Cambodian national during a standoff in a nearby street.
Officers were called to the market in Khlong Nueng subdistrict, where they found 37 year old Eu with stab wounds to his neck and right side. Rescue workers provided first aid before rushing him to hospital, where he later died.
Police reviewed CCTV footage and identified the attacker as the victim’s Cambodian co-worker. Investigators tracked him to Soi Thep Kunchon 15, where he had fled after the attack.
Officers found the man, believed to be in his 30s or 40s, in an unstable state, walking in the middle of the road while brandishing a knife.
Naewna reported that police and people in the area spent more than 30 minutes trying to persuade him to surrender, but he refused to put down the weapon.
Concerned he could pose a danger to nearby residents, officers used a net gun to subdue him before taking him into custody. No one else was injured during the operation.
Police took the suspect to Khlong Luang Police Station, where he remained unable to provide a statement due to his condition. Officers will question him, verify his identity and proceed with legal action once he is able to respond.

Bare footprints and shoe prints on the floor indicated the presence of at least two perpetrators. Investigators believe that the assailants might not have intended to steal but rather to commit a sexual assault. The victim possibly resisted, leading to the fatal attack.
