Dream to You Episode 10 Review: Long-Awaited Confession

Episode 10 immediately goes into full-on exploration and crisis mode after Ha-na and Soo-bin’s half-sibling relationship is revealed. Instead of just letting it stay there as a side story, the writers have given more detail about how this revelation happened, how it affects them both and how the media tends to turn family stories into public entertainment. With hate from the public and online bullying, the characters remain strong, showing how much strength actors possess.

Dream to You Episode 10 has a runtime of 70 minutes. The series (그대에게 드림) stars Hwang In-yeop, Hyeri, Baek Sung-chul, Lee Yul-eum, Lee Sang-yeob, and Lee Ji-min, and is directed by Yoo Sun-dong.

Yu-geon Steps Up for Ha-na

Ah, our so-called coward king, Yu-geon, defends Ha-na, proving he isn’t a coward but is just a guy who is scared of his feelings. With his might, he steps in to protect Ha-na when the media tries to bombard her with questions and flashing lights. This gives her the sense of home from him.

Yu-geon stays beside Ha-na, not to solve her problems, but to give her the right amount of space to ensure she handles it on her own. This shows how much he values her individuality and respects her. Their chemistry is perfect.

Yi-jae Proves Herself

With all the media hate going on, Soo-bin takes some time off from the film, leaving Yi-jae to handle all the production work. Nervous at first, she understands Soo-bin’s situation, musters up courage and delivers a motivating speech to her crew to proceed with working. And they do!

Seeing how far she’s come feels truly inspiring. In the beginning of the series, she seemed to be a clumsy girl who was just doing random work to live a stale life. But now, she’s actively working on her dream. However, she does get her emotional point when, despite staying too strong, too many problems, such as investors threatening to back out, cause her to break down and cry. This doesn’t show her weakness but shows she’s human too.

Soo-bin’s Painful Family Struggle

Soo-bin is once again the pathetic character with a heartbreaking storyline. When he visits his grandma’s home, he discovers that his mother Hwa-yeon has left. She leaves a letter behind where she apologises and thanks him for being the best chapter in her life and protecting her all this while. Their complicated relationship comes to an end.

Despite all this, Soo-bin still attends the press conference as he doesn’t want his issues to cause the downfall of the production team. This ultimately shows that all his life, he has put other people’s needs before his own.

Su-hee Finally Tells Her Truth

The press conference becomes the core of this episode. Soo-bin tries to stay away from the half-siblings topic, but the media doesn’t stop. This is where Su-hee intervenes and finally tells her side of the story.

She explains how Cheol-gyu deceived her by hiding his marriage and how she ultimately became another victim of his motives. The best part is, she proudly tells she has no regrets about her past or her child, Ha-na, proving that what’s done is done and the media can shut up. This shows that Su-hee isn’t a cold mother but someone who was carrying too much burden and putting a rude face up to protect her family.

Ha-na and Her Mother Reconcile

Ha-na and Su-hee finally have an honest conversation. Ha-na acknowledges that she can both love and dislike her mother, showing that no matter what, they both are each other’s family.

Ha-na requests that her mother let her become an independent adult instead of constantly nodding to what Su-hee tells her. Rather than completely rejecting her mother, Ha-na asks for freedom while still wanting her mother in her life. They both hug each other, symbolising that they would give each other what they need.

Soo-bin and Yi-jae Finally Confess

With all the scandal and hate, Soo-bin plans to leave the production so that the investors will stop the threat and continue the film. Later, Yi-jae and Soo-bin meet. Before she can explain to him, Soo-bin kisses her and confesses his love.

Yi-jae kisses back and confesses that she loves him as well. Soo-bin says that this moment and this love are more than enough for him, proving that Soo-bin finally wishes to take a break and just embrace the love he has always wanted.

Final Words

With the newly added storyline regarding half-siblings, I was pretty sceptical regarding how the writers would bring a conclusion to it. But using just one episode, the writers have somehow developed it neatly and also concluded it, allowing the finale week to focus more on ending other storylines.

Soo-bin and Yi-jae’s confession finally gives the central romance the most needed focus, leaving the viewers in awe after a long time. With Yu-geon and Ha-na’s romance, the writers have added more charm to the series. Let’s see how the finale week turns out! Because so far, with just two episodes, the series has got its spark back. Hopefully, the last two episodes continue it and end the drama with the needed sweet ending.
