Awarapan 2 Review on X: Emraan Hashmi’s Shivam Pandit Wins Over Fans Awaiting Awarapan

After 19 years of waiting, Awarapan 2 has finally hit the theatres, and X has already started handing out ratings, screaming about their favourite scenes and emotionally processing the return of “Shivam Pandit”.

The early reviews are largely positive, with viewers praising Emraan Hashmi’s performance, the music, the nostalgia and the film’s emotional core. Shivam is back, and people have feelings all over again.

Awarapan 2 Review: Emraan Hashmi Is Clearly The MVP

If there is one thing early reactions agree on, it is Emraan Hashmi.

X user @TheLoyalSKFan gave Awarapan 2 a 3.5/5, calling it “an absolute Gold for Shivam Pandit” and praising Emraan Hashmi for the spark with what they describe as a new definition of a comeback.

The review is not fully flowers as they admit that the writing could have been better but still found the film fast-paced and ultimately a good watch, particularly praising the background score and flashbacks.

Another user, @smartemraan, pointed to the emotional angle, calling the film a “blockbuster” and praising its performances, music and nostalgia. 

Then there is @ItsJitendrazzz who went on to score the film 4.5/5, describing the film as a powerful and emotional cinematic experience that successfully blends emotion, action, and intensity.

The early reviews on X seem reasonably happy with the emotional quotient and Emraan Hashmi’s Shivam Pandit in the film.

First 20 Minutes Apparently Get You Connected

One of the more interesting reactions comes from @moviereview1684 who says that the opening 20 minutes alone are enough to make audiences emotionally connect with Shivam Pandit. For a sequel arriving almost 2 decades after the original, that becomes important and big.

You really cannot spend half the movie asking the audience to remember why they cared about Shivam; you need to make them care. According to reviews on X, Awarapan 2 gets the connection right.

Music Plays With Emotional Stability

We cannot talk about Awarapan 2 without the music. An X user @Factstromo29982 had one of the more personal reactions to “Yeh Awarapan”. They explain that earlier the song was simply just a good heartbreak song, but after seeing Shivam’s story, they understood how much of his pain the song carries. 

Perhaps, that is the best description of why music continues to matter.

Then @TheLoyalSKFan points out how Toh Phir Aao pulls the audience straight back into the original when the film starts to lose momentum, while Tera Mera Rishta becomes the emotional highlight of the second half.

Basically, songs are not just being used; they are perhaps conveying and speaking to the audience.

The Nostalgia Factor

For user @smartemraan, as attached above, the nostalgia factor seems to hit particularly. Their review focuses on a jail sequence involving pigeons, Aaliyah’s flashback and the Tera Mera Rishta theme playing in the background. 

They describe getting goosebumps and feeling every emotion from the original rush back. Awarapan 2 seems to take the viewers back to the 2007 Awarapan.

User @Eclipsefury_09 also picked up on the emotional connection between Shivam and Aaliyah.

Even though she is no longer physically present, her memory continues to shape him. For a character whose entire emotional identity was tied so deeply to Aaliyah, it feels like an important emotional thread.

For user @imnatasha09, the end of a 19-year-long wait itself seems like happy news.

Not Everyone Is Calling It A Win

User @sairu_shines kept it brutal and wrote, “Not every iconic film needs a sequel. Some legacies are better left untouched.”

While most reactions praise the film with a 3.5/5 and 4.5/5 rating, the user’s reaction comes as a reminder that nostalgia can run both ways.

Early Verdict

Awarapan 2 seems to be landing exactly where you would expect a 19-year-later part to land: emotionally.

The early X reviews praise Emraan Hashmi’s Shivam Pandit, the music and the nostalgia, with several viewers calling it emotionally engaging. The biggest criticism comes from the writing, which even some positive reviewers feel could have been stronger.

But the overall mood seems happy with the movie.
