The owner of a private museum has appealed for police help. A masked intruder broke onto the property twice in just over a month, according to a Facebook post shared by the page Drama-addict.

The owner, who runs “Borommanathsathit House Museum-9 Museum,” said the first break-in happened about six weeks ago. An intruder carrying a knife entered through the front veranda at about 2:15am, and spent roughly 45 minutes on the property. Motion-activated lights and an alarm signal woke the owner, who checked CCTV footage and saw the intruder flee.

The same intruder returned weeks later, the owner said. When the alarm sounded again, the intruder fled and disappeared from camera view before officers arrived. The owner called the police hotline, and officers reached the property within about 10 minutes. They found no one on site and advised him to file a formal report the next morning.

CCTV footage from both break-ins was clear, the owner said, though the intruder wore a hat and a face mask. He said the intruder had spent about 40 minutes near a side window before moving to the front. He believes investigators could have used that detail to track him down that night.

The case has shown no progress for more than a month, the owner said. Since then, he has installed steel bars on the windows and doors of both the museum and an adjoining residence, and added extra lighting. He has also installed eight more CCTV cameras and additional alarm points.

The owner said he and his family have been living in fear since the break-ins. He criticised the lack of support from government agencies. He said he has had to bear the cost and risk of securing the property himself. He intends to keep defending it on his own for now.
