Mamelodi Sundowns will turn their attention back to domestic duties after securing their place in the CAF Champions League final.
The Betway Premiership champions are set to host Stellenbosch FC at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday night, as they continue their push to defend their league title.
Masandawana progressed to the continental final with a 2-0 aggregate victory over the weekend, boosting confidence within the squad ahead of the crucial league clash.
Maintain momentum
Midfielder Jayden Adams said the team is motivated to maintain momentum.
“It is a great achievement for us as a team, and for me as an individual, to have qualified for the Champions League final. Going into the league, it’s about keeping the momentum, winning games and focusing on ourselves,” he said.
Despite Mamelodi Sundowns’ strong form, Adams expects a tough challenge from the visitors, who come into the match off a 3-1 win over Sekhukhune United.
“They are a hardworking, well-organised and well-coached team. They’ll come in confident after their win, so we expect them to come at us, but we’ll be ready,” he added.
Adams also praised the club’s supporters, urging the “Yellow Nation” to turn out in numbers once again.
Stellenbosch FC under coach Gavin Hunt are still pushing for a top-eight finish, adding further significance to the encounter.
Kick-off is at 19:30, with the match set to be broadcast live on SuperSport.
The clash is the only fixture scheduled for Wednesday.
