‘Such a big club celebrating a draw?’: Ouaddou disappointed with Chiefs’ tactics

Orlando Pirated head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has hit out at Kaizer Chiefs for celebrating a draw on Sunday.

Despite scoring first, Amakhosi could not hold on to the lead as the Buccaneers forced a draw.

After the match, Chiefs players and technical teams were seen celebrating as they ended their five consecutive league losses to their rivals.

Ouaddou criticised the way the Glamour Boys approached the derby on Sunday.

“I have seen a lot of players of Kaizer Chiefs going down. I cannot say that they were tired or just winning time because it seems like the draw was a fantastic result for them, for such a big club,” he said as per iDiski Times.

“I think they should be disappointed like us because tonight I have the feeling that we lost two points.

“And I think them as well, they should have this feeling, but I saw that they were very happy with one point.”

Ouaddou attacks Chiefs

A draw for Chiefs has seen them extend their gap to five points ahead of fourth-placed AmaZulu. Two more wins in their remaining matches could see them secure CAF Confederation Cup qualification for next season.

Ex-Kaizer Chiefs left-back Tsepo Masilela shared Ouaddou’s sentiments on Amakhosi’s defensive approach.

He felt that Amakhosi were fearful of losing and had to overload the midfield to stop Pirates from playing. Masilela argued that those tactics limited Chiefs from going forward and only exposed the gap in quality between the two teams.
