- A murder investigation has been launched after a man was killed by a cash-in-transit van in Bushbuckridge.
- Police allege the deceased attempted to rob the vehicle before being fatally run over.

Police have opened a murder investigation following the death of a 28-year-old man who was run over by a cash-in-transit van in Mpumalanga.
The gruesome incident, which occurred earlier this week in Bushbuckridge, has since gone viral on social media.
This criminal tried to rob a cash in transit vehicle and learnt a lesson that led to his death.

While details surrounding the incident remain unclear, police say the deceased allegedly attempted to rob the cash-in-transit vehicle using a sharp object.
The man has been identified by his family as Eugene Thabiso Mashego from Graskop in Shatale, Bushbuckridge.
According to police, the cash-in-transit vehicle, occupied by two security officers, was parked in Bushbuckridge while one officer entered a nearby store.
It is alleged that a man armed with a sharp object opened the passenger door and attacked the security officer seated in the driver’s seat.
“It is further reported that some security officers became aware of what was happening and are said to have fired shots at the alleged attacker, who fell to the ground.
It is further alleged that the driver of the cash-in-transit vehicle subsequently drove over the man, who was later certified dead at the scene,” said Mpumalanga police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli.
Police have also raised concern over the circulation of the graphic video linked to the incident.
Authorities urged members of the public to refrain from sharing or forwarding the footage, warning that it could cause further trauma to the families involved and sensitive viewers.
