

A 73 year old woman survived four days lost in a forest in Phetchabun province after going missing while foraging for mushrooms, before being found weak but alive by a large search and rescue team.
Chan went missing on June 2 at 11.30am in a forest near Ban Talat Mai, Mueang Kanchanaburi, Bung Sam Phan district. Relatives and residents had been searching for her in the days that followed.
On June 5, police, military units, and rescue teams launched a comprehensive search supported by police and military dogs as well as drones. More than 100 personnel took part in the operation.
At around 12pm, the search party found Chan sitting exhausted in the forest approximately 2 kilometres from where she had vanished. Search teams had passed the spot earlier without noticing her. Chan said that while lost, she encountered a silent woman who stayed with her. With no food available, she survived on wild figs and the small amount of water she had brought with her. She said she was unsure how much longer she could have lasted.
Following her rescueOfficials transported Chan to Bung Sam Phan Hospital for a medical check-up and recovery.
In related notes, the Regional Health Office 9 issued a caution for the rainy season, warning the public against consuming poisonous mushrooms, which can be deadly. The office also addressed six common misconceptions about mushrooms, reported KhaoSod.

In another separate incident, search efforts entered a fourth day today as more than 100 people continued looking for a woman who disappeared while trekking in a forest on the border of Trang and Phatthalung provinces.
Wantanee, 53, also known as Ae, went missing on June 1 after walking ahead of her group alone during a descent from the Khao Jed Yod route within Khao Banthat Wildlife Sanctuary. Heavy rain hampered early tracking efforts.
Search teams recently found wet tissues and human waste in the forest believed to belong to the missing trekker, suggesting she may still be in the area. The search continues.
