Synopsis
In 1937, Harbin was under Japanese colonial rule. The Japanese and puppet forces brutally suppressed anti-Japanese resistance. The Harbin Harmonica Society was actually an underground intelligence base of the Chinese Communist Party. Qin Na led its members, using performances as cover to secretly pass intelligence and carry out anti-Japanese struggles.
When the Japanese and puppet forces raided the stronghold, Qin Na calmly maneuvered, while Chen Yu, deputy chief of the Special Agents Division, secretly shielded them. The Harmonica Society narrowly escaped danger.
After righteous fighter Shen Yan assassinated a traitor, he was inspired by his sister Shen Ling’s patriotic fervor to join the underground struggle. Together, the team assembled a high-frequency jammer to counter Japanese radio wave detection. Gu Xiaoxiong, captured after playing an anti-Japanese melody, endured brutal torture and died a heroic death.
Qin Na passed on crucial intelligence despite the loss of many comrades. She wove the intelligence into a musical composition, performed it on stage, and died a martyr.
Shen Yan eliminated the Japanese commander Ling Mu Kang and ultimately died in a fight with Song Tian.
Shen Ling, protected by Chen Yu, successfully transmitted the message and escaped.
With the Harmonica Society at its core, these anti-Japanese heroes used their instruments as weapons, fought on relentlessly, and faced sacrifice after sacrifice—yet the flame of revolution never died out. Together, they wrote a heroic chapter in the resistance against Japan in Northeast China.
