URC quarter-final: Stormers v Cardiff kick off time

With the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup finals taking this weekend, the teams will have an extra week to sharpen up before the URC quarter-finals, which will see the Stormers kick off against Cardiff next Saturday.

The Stormers, who finished the league stages in third place, are set to host Cardiff in the second outing between the teams in a row after they went down 22-16 against the Welshmen away on Friday.

“We’re going to have to regroup quickly,” Stormers coach John Dobson said. “We know what’s in this group and we’ll regroup quickly.

“We’re a very bruised team who were beaten by the better team on the night and we’ll have to do much better than this in the quarter-final.”

“We give Cardiff all the credit they deserve – they were desperate – and I’m sorry that their desperation meant more to them than our chance to host a series of playoffs in Cape Town.

“I thought their attack and defence was very good. They put us under pressure defensively, got yards on us, very clever attack, and they were just really desperate.”

The Stormers and Cardiff encounter will kick off at 15:30 next Saturday

Don’t forget that that URC quarter-finals will only take place next weekend due to the EPCR finals this weekend.

As it is, several players are set to attend the Springbok alignment camp this week.
