A former member of the Thai boyband Dragon 5, who was reported missing after leaving home on a bicycle, was found dead in the Chao Phraya River in Nonthaburi province today, August 7.
The former Dragon 5 member, 46 year old Thaman “Tae” Taephan, was reported missing by his partner, 42 year old Walaipan Srinapaphan, after he failed to return from an early morning cycling trip.
According to Walaipan, Tae left home without his mobile phone, wallet or GPS-enabled smartwatch, making it difficult for relatives to trace his whereabouts.
She previously told police that CCTV footage showed Tae cycling towards Rama VII Bridge before he disappeared from camera view.
Walaipan also said Tae had no known mental health issues and that there had been no disputes within the family before his disappearance.

Police initially checked hospitals in the area but found no record of Tae receiving medical treatment or being admitted.
According to the latest update from the Khao Khon Non Facebook page, Tae’s body was recovered from the Chao Phraya River near Rama VII Bridge this afternoon.
Police said the cause of death remains under investigation. Initial examinations reportedly found no visible injuries on the body.
Authorities are also continuing to search for the bicycle Tae was riding when he left home, as it has not yet been recovered.

Following the news, fans and members of Thailand’s entertainment industry posted messages of condolence on Tae’s social media accounts.
The case follows another recent tragedy involving Thai travel YouTuber Hlun Solo, who was found dead in a hotel in Tbilisi, Georgia, after being reported missing.
Hlun’s family lost contact with him on July 13. Georgian police found his body on July 14, but his family was not informed until after a missing person report had been filed.
His body was returned to his home province of Kalasin on August 6 after authorities gave a preliminary finding that he died from heart failure. His family said they are awaiting the full autopsy results, including toxicology tests.
