DILG: More funds needed for jails if ‘Robin Padilla Law’ will be repealed

MANILA, Philippines — Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla said the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) may need more funds if Congress repeals Republic Act No. 8294, colloquially called the “Robin Padilla Law.” The bureau is under the Department of Interior and Local Government that Remulla heads. “If we’re at 200 percent
