What kind of deal does Senku strike with the numerous Why-man aliens?

One of the most important aspects of this entire series is the deal that Senku puts forward in front of the alien beings. If they do not agree to it, humanity might get erased once and for all. At least, that’s exactly what everyone might have thought when they saw Senku’s proposed idea was rejected right away. We were not shown what he said to them in the beginning. The alien life form stated that it was too difficult a deal to agree with. There was also a high chance that it might never come true. So they would rather not take a chance on humanity.

What was the next step for the alien race?

The alien race did not retaliate, nor did they do anything to humans. They also did not petrify Senku and his friends. They just concluded that it would be better for them to leave Earth and search for another intelligent race rather than stick around. Only one device stayed behind because they believed in Senku’s vision. And that’s how one of the biggest problems of this entire world left humanity in the Dr Stone world.

Do Senku and others come back to Earth without any issues?

Yes, Senku and his friends land on Earth without a problem, and they reunite with their friends. From here on, the characters do not face any major challenges, and we prepare solely for the impending end. The group celebrates their huge space journey with gold medals and a group picture with almost everyone.

What happens in the future?

The future is bright for every cast member, and we see what happens to most of the characters in detail. Gen has become a diplomat, Tsukasa is still fighting crimes, Ryusui has created a company under his name, and he still has an intense want for everything. Other than that, the science team was also working on a massive project. The other characters largely continue doing the same things they’ve always done. Apart from that, we also get a massive surprise for the fans who wanted some of the characters to end up together.

Who ends up with whom?

Even though there was a high hope that maybe Senku might end up with someone, preferably Kohaku, that did not happen for obvious reasons. Senku was never interested in a relationship, and Kuhaku herself was not either. Thus, the most obvious couple, Taiju and Yuzuriha, get married in this episode. Not only that, but we also see Chrome proposing to Ruri, who happily says yes.

What was the massive science project that Senku worked on in the end?

Senku finally disclosed what project he was working on. Apparently, he was planning to create a time machine that would help them stop the attack from happening in the very first place. Though the device is not ready yet, Xeno suggested they could also utilise AI to send information about the attack to the past. And pretty much that is where the series ends.

Was it a satisfying ending?

Honestly, the time-travel aspect threw me off a bit. If they actually manage to prevent the attack from ever happening, many of the characters wouldn’t even exist in the first place. On the other hand, if the world they save is separate from the one they currently live in—and changing the past has no effect on their present timeline—then Senku hasn’t really saved the people of his own world. In that case, it’s debatable how meaningful or effective this solution actually is.

That said, the ending with everyone working together to build the future was a pretty good conclusion.
