Lock Upp Season 2 Episode 20 Review
A Relay Challenge Changes the Balance of Power
The highlight of the episode is another task between team Shivangi and team Akanksha as they battle it out to make themselves safe as well as win privileges for the rest of the week. On top of winning food privileges and basic sleeping arrangements, this task is also for winning bathroom breaks! The task has both sets of contestants giving their best, but ultimately, Shivangi’s team emerges victorious once again. The task tests the team’s coordination, speed and teamwork, rewarding the side which performs and communicates the best under pressure.

However, this is not everything that Shivangi wins; she gets to choose one person from the opposite team to make unsafe till Judgement Day. Lock Upp Season 2 Episode 20 definitely ups the stakes this time and continues to mount pressure in ways that make the consequences immediate.
Food Continues to Divide the House
One of the biggest causes of friction in this episode is food, as the unsafe team have to make their own meals while the safe teams get to order food from the Digital Canteen. As they cannot share, the teams have no choice but to look at one another during meal times! Shilpa, with her classic chaotic self, ends up stealing food at first, resulting in a deduction of 10,000 from Shivangi’s funds. As a result, the winning team becomes extremely possessive with their food and, although Chamola promises that Shilpa is only having fun, they continue to push them away.

As a result, friction arises between the two teams, as Chamola and the rest know that they are only having fun, but, with so much to lose, Shivangi and her team refuse to make one mistake. This proves how, when one doesn’t have anything to lose, there’s no fear of anything. However, with their food money at stake and refusing to compromise on the luxuries and amenities that they have been granted, Shivangi’s team remains constantly on edge. It’s an interesting showcase of life, as this is a part and parcel of society.
Pressure Creates Unexpected Alliances

In a rather surprising turn of events, Chamola’s team sees an interesting growth, wherein Shilpa and Akanksha Chaudhary bury the hatchet after Chaudhary questions why Shilpa dislikes her. After some back and forth, the conversation seems to be productive, and the two can reconcile their differences. In another interesting turn, it seems that sharing difficulties has brought Chamola’s team closer in general, as they understand Shilpa’s chaos better and why she does certain things. We even see Chamola standing up for Shilpa, whether it be because she’s the team leader or not; this is something that comes as an unexpected twist.
The subtle development proves how a small change in the format can bring out the best and worst in people and give way for more emotional depth than simply dividing the house further.
A Rare Glimpse Behind the Scenes Adds an Interesting Layer

A surprising turn of events arrives in the form of notes in Dheeraj’s stuff. One interesting thing that we get to know from this episode is that the inmates apparently get stuff delivered from home, and Dheeraj was apparently getting notes that detailed how to win the show! It comes out of left field and leaves viewers questioning more than answering, but it showcases how things work in the background of the show and that it’s not as closed off as the series would like us to believe.
Final Verdict

In the end, Lock Upp Season 2 Episode 20 is very interesting and brings interesting points surrounding human psychology. With basic needs on the line, the contestants find themselves fighting with all their might, while the interactions change among them every day. Although some people continue to stir conflicts, the arguments are more grounded in the game’s circumstances rather than petty drama. However, with a new leader coming into the house, how will things change?
