Phyathai–Paolo Hospital Group has launched Addwise Comorbid, a Clinical Intelligence Platform designed to support physicians in assessing and identifying risks associated with comorbidities.
The platform covers nine major body systems and helps physicians gain a broader understanding of each patient’s health profile, identify potential hidden risks, and connect patients with appropriate specialists or a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) when required.
The launch marks another step in Phyathai–Paolo Hospital Group’s healthcare transformation journey, building on its Digital Health Ecosystem, which includes services such as Health Up, a platform connecting patients with services across the hospital network, and Telecare, which provides access to online medical consultations.
Health Up has now surpassed one million cumulative downloads, reflecting the growing adoption of digital healthcare services and connected care solutions among patients.
Building on this foundation, Phyathai–Paolo is moving from a Digital Health Ecosystem towards an Intelligent Health Ecosystem. Addwise Comorbid introduces a new layer of Clinical Intelligence by combining health data, clinical knowledge and physician expertise to support more comprehensive patient assessments and care decisions.
Supporting a shift from visible conditions to hidden health risks

Dr Anantasak Apairatana, Chief Medical Officer at Phyathai–Paolo Hospital Group, said healthcare is becoming increasingly complex, with many patients experiencing multiple comorbidities or interconnected health risks that may not always show clear symptoms.
He said healthcare must move beyond treating only the immediate disease or symptom and focus on understanding the patient as a whole, in line with the principles of Value-Based Healthcare.
“More than 40 years of caring for patients has given us deep medical experience, strong clinical expertise and a clear understanding of the patient journey. Today, we are bringing that foundation together with data and technology so that we can know our patients better, identify risks earlier and connect them to the right care more effectively.
“Addwise Comorbid is therefore not simply a new platform. It is an important part of our journey to elevate the Healthcare Ecosystem towards a new standard of care.”
The platform also supports the Group’s Partner for Life philosophy, which focuses on hospitals playing a continuous role in supporting patients’ health journeys rather than only providing care when illness occurs.
“For us, Partner for Life is not simply about staying with patients for as long as possible. It is about knowing them well enough to identify risks earlier and connect them to the right care at every stage of life,” Dr Anantasak said.
Turning healthcare data into clinical insight

Dr Jet John Tepsongwat, Director of Medical Informatics and Technology at Phyathai–Paolo Hospital Group, said Addwise Comorbid was developed to address the challenge of helping physicians view relevant health information and risk factors in a more structured way.
The platform incorporates Review of Systems (ROS) to support systematic assessment of symptoms and potential comorbidity risks. Its algorithm is developed based on Evidence-Based Medicine principles and recognised Clinical Practice Guidelines.
The system is designed to organise relevant information and highlight areas that may require further clinical review before physicians determine appropriate next steps.
“The value of the system is not simply about how intelligent the technology is. What matters is whether it can help physicians care for patients in a more structured and safer way.
“Addwise Comorbid functions as a Clinical Decision Support System. Assessment, diagnosis and treatment decisions remain under the clinical judgment of the treating physician.”
The platform is designed to support, rather than replace, physician expertise by allowing Clinical Intelligence and Clinical Judgment to work together within a structured care process.
Introducing the “Longevity Assistant” role

Dr Thouantosaporn Suwanjutah, Medical Standards Director at Phyathai–Paolo Hospital Group and Director of the Heart Center at Phyathai 2 Hospital, said the development of the “Longevity Assistant” (LA) role is another important part of the Group’s care model.
The Longevity Assistant serves as a Clinical Navigator, helping connect patients, physicians and the Addwise Comorbid platform throughout the healthcare process.
The role includes collecting relevant health information, understanding lifestyle and behavioural factors, and helping physicians gain a more complete picture of each patient before making clinical assessments and treatment decisions.
When Addwise Comorbid identifies potential risks, physicians remain responsible for assessment and decision-making. The Longevity Assistant supports the care process based on physician recommendations, including connecting patients with specialists or a Multidisciplinary Team and supporting ongoing follow-up.
“Technology helps us see information in a more systematic way, while Human Touch helps us understand the patient’s context more deeply.
“The Longevity Assistant therefore plays an important role in connecting Clinical Intelligence with the Clinical Workflow, allowing data, physicians’ expertise and patient care to move forward together in a more integrated and continuous way,” Dr Thouantosaporn said.
Establishing standards through Addwise Comorbid Academy

Alongside the platform, Phyathai–Paolo Hospital Group has developed the Addwise Comorbid Academy to establish consistent implementation standards.
The programme includes physician training, Longevity Assistant development and a structured certification framework, ensuring technology, people and clinical processes operate under the same standards.
Advancing towards a new standard of care
The launch of Addwise Comorbid represents a key milestone in Phyathai–Paolo Hospital Group’s development of an Intelligent Health Ecosystem.
By combining more than 40 years of medical experience and clinical expertise with data, technology and multidisciplinary care, the Group aims to establish a new standard of care focused on improving patient understanding, supporting informed decisions and delivering more personalised healthcare.
The initiative reflects Phyathai–Paolo’s broader vision of an Intelligent Health Ecosystem that moves beyond digital connectivity towards deeper clinical understanding, stronger continuity of care and improved health outcomes for patients.
