Spider-Noir Ending Explained
The Spider-Noir ending is nothing short of haunting and emotional, as it highlights the tragic sacrifices required to find peace and security in a city. The ending showcases a showdown filled with engaging action sequences, leaning into its noir roots and delivering a story that stays with you after the credits roll.

Throughout the season, Ben Reilly slowly uncovers the rot that exists within society as he realises that everything he has been investigating is all part of one big conspiracy tying back to Silvermane. However, there’s more to this than meets the eye.
Cat Kills Silvermane – But Why?
In episode 8, when a skirmish ensues as Ben breaks into Silvermane’s meeting, the latter takes the opportunity to flee as the others fight. Realising what’s happening, Cat follows suit and, after a brief conversation, she shoots Silvermane and kills him. This betrayal has been in the making for quite some time, though, as Cat has been scheming against Silvermane and trying to get Sandman out of his grip for some time.

In the end, she shoots Silvermane after he taunts her, saying that she was happy to be a kept woman who was always taken care of. Cat, however, was never under anyone’s thumb; it’s just that Silvermane never found out about it. It’s a moment of respite for her as she finally fulfils her goal and ends Silvermane’s reign of control and terror once and for all.
Does Ben Defeat the Villains?
Ben gets into a confrontation with Sandman and Megawatt in the last episode, although things get messy when Cat arrives at the scene and realises what is going on. She tries to stop Megawatt, who attacks her, resulting in Sandman going head-to-head against the unpredictable villain. However, their fight is short-lived, as Megawatt overpowers Sandman easily and almost kills him. Thankfully, Ben steps in just in time and kills Megawatt using his own electricity.

In the aftermath, he walks away, leaving Sandman in Cat’s arms and hands her the antidote that he has been saving. It will turn Sandman’s power over and save him once and for all, since his superpower was slowly killing him.
Why Ben Chooses the Spider-Noir Identity Again
Throughout the series, we see Ben struggling with his identity as the masked vigilante after he was forced to come back due to Silvermane’s atrocities. After Ruby’s death, he wasn’t himself and couldn’t think about saving people when he wasn’t able to save the love of his life. In the end, though, he realises that contrary to what he thought of himself, he has always thought about people and their safety and prioritised the greater good. He embraces his role in society in the end, not only taking his private detective job seriously, but also becoming more comfortable with his powers.

What Does the Ending Signify?
The ending shows Ben, Janet and Robbie in the office discussing their successful last mission. Robbie now heads his own newspaper, and Janet is now an equal part of Ben’s investigative agency, as evident from the name change. It’s a happy ending that is unlike the dark, gloomy vibe of the rest of the series. We see Ben using his superpowers to get his hat, signifying that he didn’t, in fact, use the antidote on himself, and he’s ready to take on any responsibility that heads his way. He has stopped running from his past, and that has opened up a new avenue for his future and how he sees life.

Will There Be a Spider-Noir Season 2?
The ending showcases Ben returning to life as normal, but with a renewed sense of enthusiasm. This gives way to him possibly taking on more cases involving other supervillains, since Silvermane is dead. Although there is no open ending, and this might just be a standalone series, the season could be extended to another one. However, there is no official word on that as of yet.
