MANILA, Philippines — Candidates of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) were leading in all five sectoral categories contested in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections, based on the partial, unofficial parallel count of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) late Monday.
As of 11:56 p.m. Monday, UBJP candidates were ahead in the settler communities, women, youth, ulama, and traditional leaders sectors. The figures remained partial and unofficial and could still change as more election returns were received and processed.

For the settler communities sector, where voters will choose two representatives, the PPCRV tally showed:
- Olaya, Yul Adelfo (UBJP): 725,623 votes (25.4 percent)
- Arnado, Mary Ann (UBJP): 668,898 (23.5 percent)
- Yu Ekey, Ongpin (BFP): 381,309 (13.4 percent)
- Anayatin, Susana (BFP): 370,282 (13.0 percent)
- Abujen, Alex Jr. (BGC): 335,047 (11.7 percent)
- Padayhag, Brod Arnold (BGC): 260,450 (9.1 percent)
- Ramirez, Edgardo (C4P): 85,839 (3.0 percent)
- Lagman, Percival (C4P): 24,318 (0.9 percent)
In the women’s sector, which has one seat, the partial tally showed:
- Silongan, Aida (UBJP): 701,178 votes (43.4 percent)
- Sahali, Ruby (BGC): 495,186 (30.6 percent)
- Usop, Jehan (BFP): 294,096 (18.2 percent)
- Jumaide, Dayangcarlsum (TPWC): 96,501 (6.0 percent)
- Kader, Pombaen (BPW): 21,836 (1.4 percent)
- Kadatuan, Mariam (LBIAA): 8,681 (0.5 percent)
For the youth sector, which also has one seat, the partial PPCRV count showed:
- Abbas, Sulffy (UBJP): 629,983 votes (41.1 percent)
- Adiong, Jeff (BGC): 576,258 (37.5 percent)
- Ibrahim, Nur-Jamil (BFP): 328,426 (21.4 percent)
In the ulama sector, which represents Islamic scholars and has one seat, the partial tally showed:
- Ebil, Muhammad Nadzir (UBJP): 654,602 votes (42.3 percent)
- Abdullatif, Alibasher (BGC): 531,604 (34.4 percent)
- Borhan, Marhan (BFP): 360,480 (23.3 percent)
For the traditional leaders’ sector, which also has one seat, the partial tally showed:
- Macasalong, Marjanie (UBJP): 692,438 votes (41.6 percent)
- Mangudadatu, Sultan Pax (BGC): 419,782 (25.2 percent)
- Ibay, Panga (ISLPI): 213,833 (12.8 percent)
- Gumbila, Datuteng (BFP): 141,239 (8.5 percent)
- Atar, Abdul Hamidullah (RHSUMA): 88,407 (5.3 percent)
- Maulana, Sultan Sharif (DTLO): 57,761 (3.5 percent)
- Benito, Sailaney (RHSUPA): 28,037 (1.7 percent)
- Ampatuan, Tharhata (ROYALS): 10,377 (0.6 percent)
- Hadj Nor, Jehad (RSL): 6,799 (0.4 percent)
- Amatonding, Mangontawar (RSEU): 6,635 (0.4 percent)
How the sectoral seats are allocated
Under the Bangsamoro Organic Law, the BARMM Parliament has 80 seats: 40 representatives elected through regional parliamentary political parties, 32 district representatives and eight sectoral representatives.
The sectoral allocation consists of two seats for settler communities and one each for women, youth, traditional leaders and ulama, while two seats are reserved for non-Moro Indigenous Peoples.

The Commission on Elections recorded about 2.393 million registered voters for the BARMM elections. Voting was conducted through 5,212 clustered precincts in 1,186 voting centers across the region.
The Sept. 14 polls marked the first parliamentary elections in BARMM, with the vote completing the region’s transition toward an elected regional Parliament. /cb
