COTABATO CITY — The son of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) chairperson Ahod Balawag “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim was proclaimed Tuesday as the first parliamentary district representative of the Special Geographic Area of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (SGA-BARMM).

The SGA, composed of municipalities carved out of North Cotabato, has two parliamentary district seats.

Mansor Ebrahim, the youngest son of Al Haj Murad Ebrahim, ran under the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP), headed by his father.

He defeated Butch Malang of the Bangsamoro Federalist Party (BFP).

He was proclaimed past 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

In Maguindanao del Sur, the provincial Board of Canvassers also proclaimed Sajid Andre Ampatuan as the winner in the second parliamentary district.

He is the son of former Shariff Saydona Mustapha Mayor Datu Sajid Islam Uy Ampatuan and a grandson of the late Maguindanao governor Andal Ampatuan Sr.

Sajid Andre ran under the BFP.
