Sugary drink tax hike may raise P34B for PhilHealth – DOF

MANILA, Philippines – Raising the excise tax on sugary drinks could provide the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) with an additional P25 billion to P34 billion annually through 2030, while generating another P7 billion for programs supporting indigent patients and upgrading government hospitals and clinics. Finance Undersecretary Karlo Fermin Adriano presented the projections as he
